I'm sure you get several letters like this one, and if you don't, you
certainly should. On Monday, January 25, I had the disctinct pleasure of
sitting in on a session you gave at MPI's Professional Education Conference
in Vancouver, BC, entitled, "What Adult Learners Want: Planning Educational
Programs that Produce Results." I wanted to pass along my thanks,
not only for introducing me to the four concepts of learning, but for sharing
your personal story of triumph. I believe it's often difficult for people
to recognize events that could, or will, have a mojor affect on their lives
when those events are taking place. I was fortunate enough to realize that
your session would help change my life ‹ in a very positive way.

Your speech was a masterful example of adult education,
and you showed us exactly how we could do it, too. Your self-disclosure
and the stand
up exercise connected us and created an open, warm environment. Then
you brought me through a powerful personal experience. I was spell-bound
during the dog bite story and tears filled my eyes. I experienced the
power and touching beauty of noticing love rather than fear, even under
great physical challenge. And you showed me how to take love into action
with the letter-to-his-teacher story.
