BARBARA ELECTED FOR A THREE YEAR TERM TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE NATIONAL SPEAKERS ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION
The NSA Foundation is a beneficial program founded as a stewardship of professional speakers and a service to others. Through grants and scholarships, many worthy individuals receive financial support in a time of crisis or to continue their speaking education. The purpose of the NSA Foundation Board of Trustees is to protect, manage and build the assets of the NSA Foundation.
BARBARA IS A REGULAR COLUMNIST WITH THE GULF COAST BUSINESS REVIEW
Barbara’s column, “Contagious Enthusiasm,” is now a regular feature in the Gulf Coast Business Review, a Florida business newspaper that focuses on Trends, Companies, Entrepreneurs, and Law.
National Board of the Center for FaithWalk Leadership
Ken Blanchard, the co-author of The One Minute Manager, is the co-founder of a new non-profit ministry called The Center for FaithWalk Leadership, and he has asked Barbara to be a new member of the Board of Directors. The mission of the organization is to teach all people of influence, whether they are leaders in their church, community, organization, or family, to lead according to Scriptural principles. Board of Directors of the National Speaker’s Association
In July of 2002 Barbara was one of five candidates elected to the Board of Directors of the National Speaker’s Association, an organization of approximately 4000 members. She will serve a three year term from July 2002 to July 2005.
Board of Trustees – Northern Theological Seminary
In 2001 Barbara was asked to be a Trustee at Northern Theological Seminary in Lombard, Illinois. The school, which was founded at the University of Chicago, prepares people of all denominations to be leaders in Christian ministry. As a Trustee, she serves on the Institutional Advancement Committee.
Platinum Speaker
During 2001-2002 Barbara was selected by Meeting Professionals International (MPI), an organization with over 18,000 members, to present an enhanced Platinum level program on "What Adult Learners Want: Planning Educational Programs that Produce Results." To achieve this status, a speaker must receive an evaluation score of at least 4.5 on a 5.0 scale at a national MPI conference, and only 34 speakers were placed in this prestigious category for that year. The Platinum Series provides top-level industry professionals to MPI chapters throughout the world.
Mega-Session – Society for Human Resource Management
Barbara has again been chosen to present a MEGA Session at the 56th Annual Society for Human Resource Management National Conference in New Orleans on June 28, 2004. This is the world's largest HR conference and exposition, and they expect over 13,000 professionals to attend. Her session is titled "CARE Packages for the Workplace—Dozens of Little Things You Can Do to Regenerate Spirit at Work." This is the fourth year Barbara has been selected to present a MEGA session, and she has been ranked one of the top ten speakers at the SHRM conference.
Advanced Writers and Speakers Association
Barbara has been asked to join the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association. It is an organization of women writers whose goal is to increase awareness with publishers and agents in the Christian market.
National Speakers Association
Barbara has been selected to be a member of the Meetings Industry Council Steering Committee serving as a liason between the NSA Chapters in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C and the Committee. This committee exists to help enhance professional relationships between NSA and other meeting professionals.
Barbara served as a member of the Editorial Advisory Committee for "Professional Speaker" magazine in 2000-2001, 2001-2002, and 2002-2003. In 2002-2003 she was responsible for all the columns. She has written five articles for the magazine at various times.
Barbara has presented to 22 NSA chapters to date, including keynoting at two speaker’s school events and headlining a “Celebrity Series.” She presents programs on “Principles of Adult Learning,” “ How to Write a Book Proposal,” “ How to be Authentic on the Platform,” “ How to Speak at Major Conferences,” and “Ten Reasons for my Success.”
Barbara was selected to present concurrent sessions at the National Speakers Association Western Winter Workshop in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003, at the Eastern Winter Workshop in 2003 and at the National Convention in 1998, 2001, and 2002.
Barbara was on the Steering Committee for the 2001 NSA Western Winter Workshop which was held March 2 - 4 in San Francisco, California. She planned and coordinated all the sessions for speaker's staff members.

Barbara is the only female to score in the top ten speakers at the 2006 Society for Human Resource Management National Convention!
SARASOTA SPEAKER/ AUTHOR RECEIVES LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
On August 21, 2004, Barbara Glanz, CSP, received the highest honor awarded by the National Speakers Association Central Florida Chapter. The award is given every three years in honor of George Morrisey, one of the legends of the speaking profession.
David Glickman, President, said, “Barbara was selected as the individual who has demonstrated significant achievements in her speaking career and who has made a profound difference in the lives of her audience members. “
Since 1995, Barbara, one of only 450 Certified Speaking Professionals in the world, has spoken on six continents and in all 50 states.
Certified Speaking Professional
Barbara was awarded the designation of Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) in 1998. It is an earned designation from the National Speakers Association, and only 457 speakers worldwide have achieved this level of expertise.
Honorary Member
The New England Speakers Association made Barbara Glanz an honorary member following her presentation to the group in April 1999. This honor is bestowed by a presidential decree to someone who shows appreciation for the chapter and who also does an outstanding job both on and off the platform. Only four other NSA members have received this distinction: Og Mandino, Rosita Perez, Michael Karpovich, and Bill Hershey, an orginal NSA member.
National Federation of Press Women
Barbara received First Place in the Direct Mail Marketing category for her promotional mailing titled "Spreading Contagious Enthusiasm™" in the 1999 National Federation of Press Women's Communication Contest:

Barbara received the following awards from the Illinois Women's Press Association in the Mate E. Palmer 1999 Communications Contest:
- First Place for her direct mail marketing kit "Spreading Contagious Enthusiasm™"
- Second Place for her book, CARE Packages for the Home - Dozens of Ways to Regenerate Spirit Where You Live (Andrews McMeel, 1998) in the Nonfiction Book Category
Barbara received the following awards from the Illinois Woman's Press Association 1997:
- First place for her direct mail marketing advertising "Spreading Contagious Enthusiasm ™"
- Second place for an instructional nonfiction book,CARE Packages for the Workplace -- Dozens of Little Things You Can Do to Regenerate Spirit at Work (McGraw-Hill, 1996
- Honorable mention for a feature story published in Canadian HR Reporter, "Fighting Frustration with Fun -- A Little Levity and a Lot of Heart Go a Long Way. "
Wordsmith Award
Barbara was presented with the "Wordsmith" Award by the Board of Directors of NSA Illinois in 1996-1997. This award is given annually to one member in Recognition of Platform Excellence.

Barbara has been selected to be represented in Who’s Who of American Women, Who ’s Who in Entertainment, and Who’s Who in the Midwest.
