If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them. - Henry David Thoreau -

Hello. Hello. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your session last week at the ASTD Conference. It is truly wonderful to see that there are others who are trying to keep the workplace light-hearted and fun. It is all too easy to get bogged down with the corporate rat race. We as trainers are always looking for ways to keep things excitable and fun for our participants, and it seems that you have hit the nail on the head.

Testimonials

Barbara is HUMAN! I do not know of a single consultant who would give out their telephone number to hundreds of people and say, "Please feel free to call me!" Instead of focusing on our corporate office (where the majority of consultants spend their time), Barbara has traveled with me to even our smallest locations. Our employees are impressed that she is willing to go the distance, and they are always eager for a visit from Barbara.

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I am free; I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship started, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now; He set me free!

Loving Thoughts from Family and Friends:

I am devastated with the news of Charlie's death. Not surprised. I knew the end was near just by the symptoms when we visited you. When we were leaving, remember I looked him straight in the eye and said, with great conviction, 'I will see you again, Charlie.' I meant every word because I knew then it would be in the hereafter, not while on earth.

Charlie was a sweet man and we loved him. Ray is forever in his debt for his caring ways when Ray was going thru his dark night of the soul. No one kept in touch more than Charlie. May God's angels escort him home. Where we will all see him again.
Our love and hugs and deep affection to you and the family.

You are both in my prayers daily, and even though I don't understand why things are turning out like they are, I know the Lord is still in control and will work things out for his glory. In a small way, it must be similar to what Jesus felt on the cross when he cried out to his father, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?' If Jesus did not understand, then we have to know there will be times when we don't either. One thing I do know, however, is that God our Father is not untouched by our pain. Just as the cry of his Son on the cross must have broken his heart, so too the cries of his children must break his heart.

You know, just this second I had a delightful thought, which I would like you to pass on to Charlie. I know how he loves golf, and I am not a golfer. But I just thought that when we all get to heaven, I would like Charlie to teach me how to play golf. I actually think I could be pretty good, especially with such a good teacher!

As I read my heart sank. I know, until we have walked in your shoes, that we will never know what a difficult time this is for both you and Charlie. I do know that at times like this there are no words to express. Just silence and prayers. Please know that God is near both of you. It is times like this that I recall my most favorite poem...'Footprints.' Barb, as you walk by yourself on that beach, please know that you are never alone. God is near. And there is no question...He continues to shine through you. My prayers and thoughts continue to be with you each day.
